Shopping Centers are the hub of activity in their communities. They are more than retail establishments, they are gathering places. Yes, shopping center representatives want consumers to spend money. However, these awards are for those centers that went above and beyond what was best for their bottom line. They truly made a difference in the communities they serve because they were so moved and it was the right thing to do.
Whether the issues were health, the environment or poverty, shopping centres or shopping centre companies demonstrating significant contributions to social or community issues, charitable foundations, or other global causes were eligible for the Foundation's Community Support awards.
